These IMU systems in their simplest form provide the body angular rates and linear accelerations needed to realise a dynamic 3D motion tracking system. Combined with GNSS, a full short and long term high accuracy positioning system can be realised.
A 3-axis FOG IMU with either 300m, 850m or 1200m fiber length provides a rate stability of either 0.1°/hr, 0.01°hr, or 0.001°/hr depending on accuracy requirements and budget.
All systems can synchronize the accumulated delta angles & velocities with an externally provided digital input (eg PPS from GNSS).
